You should take it to an apple store and see if they can do anything about it but it may cost you a fair amount of money so another option is to go into settings tap on general then acessibility and scroll down until you find assistive touch click on it and then turn it on you will see a little black square you can move that around and put it anywhere on your screen it can get annoying but you will get use to it if you click on it then press devise then lock screen it will turn it off if you hold it you have the option to power it off and if you decide to you will have to plug it into the main devise to turn on your iPod back on.

"Felix,

You might consider to replace the crushed sleep/lock button.

Which generation of iPod is it? I know that the iPod touch 4G does not have such a sleep/lock button. So you must have an older version.

In any case, I think the only way to replace this button is by disassembling the iPod.

However, I can only speak on the basis of my experience with an iPhone 3G that I completely had to disassemble in order to get to the volume/sleep button. So I don't know if you actually have to disassemble the whole device before you can remove the crushed sleep/lock button and built in a new one.

I hope this helps.
