Brake lights work when truck is off but when I turn the key they stop

Brake lights work when truck is off but when I turn the key they stop My brake lights work when the truck is off but when I turn on my key they stop working. All other lights work ( reverse, both turn signals, running lights) cannot figure it out. 94 GMC Sierra
