Dryer won't continue through cycles and it is producing heat?

Dryer won't continue through cycles and it is producing heat?

My dryer will start and dry and the clothes get hot it just won't continue through cycles to turn off its self it just keeps running until I open the door or then the knob my self. How do I get it to continue through cycles and turn off it does it both on automatic dry and timed dry
