Gateway XHD3000 has flickering lines?

Gateway XHD3000 has flickering lines? My monitor, a gateway xhd3000, has flickering lines. I have read that there is an easy fix to the overheated internal parts. How can I fix it?

"josefk , are these the type of lines that you are talking about:

1) Green haze, lines, shades, distortions, banding.

2) Flickering, strobe and grid sectioning

3) Vertical band of changing rainbow lines going from top to bottom.

Those are apparently a common fault with this type of monitor. Apparently you can try to fix it in two ways (none of them ""easy""), 1) Reflow the ALTERA BGA chip on the logic board or 2), replace the logic board with a new one. If you want to reflow the IC, here are the specifics for it. If you want to replace the board, I believe this is the one that is used on your Gateway

Take a look at the caps on the logic board, see if they are either leaking or bulging. apparently another issue with this monitor

You may also want to read through this site and take a look at the Gateway Lawsuit. So, contact Gateway as well to see what they have to say and may be they will even ""help"" you out. Hope this helps, good luck."
