How do I reset the firmware on a Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100 router?

How do I reset the firmware on a Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100 router? I have a Verizon Branded G1100 router that was used at the beginning with Verizon, but then switched to Frontier when Verizon bought Frontier out. I gave away the router to someone who has Verizon but it won’t work because they can’t reset the firmware with Verizon’s version. Would you happen to know the best way I can explain this? I know some forums online say it’s impossible while others say it is. But I can’t find any clear instructions. I would have to assume it must be possible since it had Verizon firmware at the beginning and then had Frontier firmware. It can’t be that hard to go back to Verizon’s firmware. Please help if you can. Thank you for your time.

"Here’s a start:

The standard ways:

https://lifehacker.com/update-your-fios-...

Finding your Fios Gateway G1100’s firmware

The vulnerabilities are present on Gateway G1100 routers running firmware older than 02.02.00.13 (for example, 2.01). To check your firmware version:

Open “http://myfiosgateway.com/”Enter your admin name and password. The default name is “admin,” and your password is located on a sticker on your device.Once logged in, you’ll find your firmware number listed under the System Monitoring tab.

If your device is not running on version 02.02.00.13, there are a couple of ways to force an update.

The easiest way to trigger a firmware update is by resetting the device.

Simply hold down the WPS button located on the front of the router for 10 seconds to reboot it.Once it restarts and reconnects to Verizon’s network, it should grab and install the firmware.

There is this method is by using an URL to send an update request.

In a web browser, open: https://192.168.1.1/#/advanced/fwupgradeOr from the backup: http://192.168.1.1/#/advanced/fwrestoreSign in using “admin,” and the password that is printed on your router.Follow the on-screen instructions

You may have already tried the above.

If your router has not updated after attempting these upgrade methods, consider contacting Verizon directly to see if they can force the update on their end."
