I’ve accidentally broken my hold switch and now my iPod won’t turn on?

I’ve accidentally broken my hold switch and now my iPod won’t turn on?
I’ve been fixing up an iPod classic 4th gen and I accidentally broke the hold switch and mic cable, I broke off the small black connector, now my iPod won’t turn on, I’ve replaced the battery as it needed doing but now the iPod won’t turn on, I’ve tried charging etc, I have also ordered a new hold switch just wondering if this will fix the issue?
