iPod Video doesn't boot, but the hard disk starts spinning

"have you tried forcing a reset of your iPod? press and hold the Select(center) button and Menu button simultaneously for a few seconds.
another thing to try - force the iPod into Disk Mode, then connect to your computer and try to restore the software from iTunes. To force it into Disk Mode, press and hold the Select(center) button and the Play/Pause button simultaneously for a few seconds. if successful, the screen should display a check mark and say ""Disk Mode"" at the top.
see if either of those things do anything and report back."
