My 40" Sony Bravia and the red flashing light

My 40" Sony Bravia and the red flashing light Moments after turning on my Sony Bravia the green "on" light changed to a flashing red "standby" light. The # of flashes is 4 between each 2 second pause. I saw one possible reference which stated a bulb needs to be replaced. Please advise if this is a correct diagnosis. Thanks! ANSWERS:
