Power light blinks 5 times on SXRD™ Rear Projection TV KDS-55A2020
My 55-inch SXRD Rear Projection TV powered off all of a sudden. When I try to turn it on now, the power light blinks green as though it is warming up but then it shuts off and the power light blinks 5 times repeatedly. Someone has suggested that this may be the light ballast but I would like to be able to confirm this before spending $100. Also, I cannot find this part in new condition so any hints there would also be helpful!
ANSWERS:
Michael Lauritzen blinks 5 times is indicative of a faulty lamp driver is faulty. The symptoms of this are no picture or sound. Before replacing the ballast, replace the lamp.
