wan port not detecting internet provider

wan port not detecting internet provider my airport extreme suddenly stopped working. I can get internet through the ethernet cable direct from provider modem to my computer but not through extreme. I have tried reset and factory reset with no success. The LED indicator on the WAN port indicates it is working but no provider is being detected. If this is a hardware problem does anyone know of a possible repair.
