Washer grinds at spin cycle and won't spin or drain.

Washer grinds at spin cycle and won't spin or drain. My kenmore 110 series washer completed it's wash cycle and then when it went to spin dry it started making a loud grinding noise and would not spin or drain. I removed the clothes to see if it would spin and drain with only water in it and it would not. Is this the clutch or bearings or something else? ANSWERS:
