Why does my tv smell like burning bakelite
my samsung led 40 inch flat screen tv smells like burning bakelite. why and will it dissapate?

katieschonhardt91 it really should not smell at all. Could be an early sign of issues with any one of the boards. you did not tell us what model tour TV is or how old is it. for now you can just leave it alone and see what happens down the road or you can unplug it and remove the back and take a look at anything looking "odd". May be you can even isolate the source of the smell a bit better. If unsure post some images of your boards with your question so we can see what you see. For that use this guide.
