Why does the red light stay on,then turns the tv off?

Why does the red light stay on,then turns the tv off? red light comes on, then tv turns off Ive had that big chip replaced and it worked fine for a few months,,then the red light in front comes on and turns the tv off.. Could it be over heating??And how can I stop that?? ANSWERS:
