Would you think this is a TCON issue?
On my Sony Bravia kdl-55w805c I have a issue with horizontal lines and double images.

Here’s a link to the service manual for the TV. (after clicking on Go to Download beneath the Document preview box, be patient for the Download link to appear when it says This file is downloadable free of charge (5/day): ...processing... as it takes a little time to find the file).
Once you have the file, scroll to p.11-12 to view how to enter the Self Diagnostic Screen Display and check what it says.
Usually horizontal lines aren’t caused by the TCON board that is more a vertical lines problem. Horizontal lines are usually caused by faulty screen driver boards"
