The Training-Workshop aims to:
- hone/enrich the journalistic skills and competencies of teachers;
- strengthen free and responsible journalism in secondary schools;
- identify areas of development in various aspects of journalism;
- ensure their commitment and share responsibility towards the attainment of program goals; and
- formulate and craft concrete plans of action for the fourth year of pilot implementation of the program.
The participants to this activity are the seventeen (17) division supervisors/ coordinators, school heads (SHs)/head teachers (HTs) in English and two (2) teachers (one each from Advanced English IV and Journalism IV of the seventeen (17) pilot schools listed in Enclosure No. 1.
The board and lodging and traveling expenses of the participants (which shall be reimbursed at the training venue upon presentation of complete travel documents) and BSE training staff, honoraria of resource persons and consultant, supplies and materials, and other incidental expenses shall be charged to BSE Funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Participants are advised to take the cheapest means of transportation to and from the training venue.
The board and lodging of the 17 division/coordinators shall be borne by BSE except their traveling expenses which shall be charged to local funds, subject to its availability and the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Check-in shall be on May 27 from 2:00 p.m. onwards with dinner as the first meal while check-out shall be at 12:00 noon on June 1, 2012 with p.m. snacks as the last meal. However, participants who shall travel by plane may check out on June 2, 2012 after breakfast but not later than 8:00 a.m.
The participating schools and divisions listed in Enclosure No. 1 are advised to submit the confirmed list of participants by gender using the format in Enclosure No. 2 to BSE (Attention: Ms. Melinda P. Rivera or Mr. Ricardo Ador G. Dionisio) at telefax nos.: (02) 632-7746 and (02) 636-5172 or 73 on or before May 6, 2012.
