Training Workshop on Special Program in the Arts (SPA)

The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE), shall conduct the Training-Workshop on the Special Program in the Arts (SPA) on May 22-27, 2011 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City. This schedule is inclusive of travel time. The training workshop aims to:

1. apprise SPA implementers on the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach;
2. share of the best practices after a long term implementation of the SPA; and
3. update them on the recent trends and developments in the different art areas.
   

The participants to this activity are the following:

1. SPA Coordinators;
2. one (1) teacher each of the six (6) art areas of the seventeen (17) lead schools;
3. administrators;
4. teachers from other schools that have been implementing the program; and
5. other school heads who are interested to start the aforementioned program from public and private secondary schools.
   

A registration fee of Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00) per participant shall be charged to local funds to cover expenses for board and lodging, honoraria of resource persons, training kit, supplies and materials for art works. The venue rentals and equipment, travelling expenses, board and lodging and other incidental expenses that will be incurred by the resource persons and the BSE staff shall be charged to BSE funds. All expenses are subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

The registration will start on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the venue. The first meal will be dinner on the same date, and the last meal will be lunch on May 27, 2011.
