PAGASA stated as soon as the low pressure area that already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility intensifies, it will become a typhoon to be called "Butchoy” - the second typhoon to enter in the Philippines.

On the other hand, typhoon "Ambo" no longer posed any risk in the country even while it traveled with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph close to the center and gustiness as high as 170 kph.  It was observed 380 km east of Basco, Batanes and was anticipated to advance north northeast at 15 kph. "Ambo” was anticipated to be at 640 km northeast of Basco, Batanes by Tuesday morning, and  980 km northeast of Basco, Batanes by Wednesday morning.

Fishing boats as well as other small seacrafts were advised never to head out to the sea while larger sea vessels are warned against big waves caused by strong to gale force wind supposed to affect the seaboards of Luzon and the western seaboard of Visayas,  Pagasa said.

The western portion of Northern and Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms that might trigger flashfloods and landslides and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas can have monsoon rains. The rest of Visayas and Mindanao are going to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, the PAGASA announced.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to west will prevail over Extreme Northern Luzon and coming from the southwest accross the country. The coastal waters through the entire archipelago is going to be moderate to rough, PAGASA added.
