The Center for Professional and Continuing Education (CPACE) of the University of the Visayas will hold the Lecture-Forum on Public Policy on June 23, 2012 at the College Assurance Plan Building, Inigo St., Davao City.
The Lecture-Forum aims to:
- enhance participants’ understanding, appreciation, and support to the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016;
- impart additional knowledge of the requirements of Transformational Leadership and Good Governance concepts in Public Administration Towards a "Daang Matuwid” under the Aquino Administration; and
- heighten the awareness of stakeholders and program implementers in Mindanao of their role in the inclusive Growth Vision where the end-goal is for the Filipinos to find their way out of poverty, inequality, and out of the poor state of human development.
The Lecture-Forum will focus on two topics such as:
- Transformational Leadership and the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 vis-a-vis The Emerging Development Paradigm: Lessons in Public Policy; and
- Contemporary issues in Public Policy: Implementing K+12, the Basic Education Reform Program and the Implications to and Response of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The target participants to this activity are the third and second level management of Regional Offices (ROs) of CHED, HEIs (Private), SUCs, local government units (LGUs) in Regions IX, X, XI, XII, ARMM and Caraga, third and second level management of regional offices, provincial, district, division of Department of Education (DepEd), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), representatives from the Office of the President, Office of the Vice President, Office of DepEd Secretary, Office of PMs, PIA, Office of the DILG Secretary, Office of the TESDA Director General, Office of the DA Secretary and Office of the DSWD Secretary.
