a. TEACHeXCELS (Teaching-Learning Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) is a two-module, four-week on-line learning short course designed to enhance the instructional leadership skills of school heads in managing and supporting the teaching-learning processes in schools;
b. SUPEReXCELS (Supervision Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) is a three-module, six week online learning short course designed to enhance skills and management techniques in development, differentiated, and clinical supervision for school heads who conduct instructional supervision;
c. TECHeXCELS (Technology Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) is a two-module, four-week on-line learning short course designed to build the capacity of school heads to manage the integration and application of technologies in the teaching-learning process.
d. PEACeXCELS (Peace Education Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) is a two module, four-week on-line learning shortcourse designed to enhance the competencies of school in promoting and practicing a culture of peace and respect for cultural diversity in schools;
e. CHANGeXCELS (Change Management Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) is a four-week on-line short course on Leading and Managing Change consisting of two self-instructional modules and interactive simulator game on managing change. The course is designed to equip school heads with competencies to become change leaders and managers as well as transformers of the future within and beyond their school and community; and
PDeXCELS On-line (Professional Development for Excellence in School Leadership in Southeast Asia) is a four-week on-line learning program on Curriculum Implementation and Enrichment for education supervisors. It utilizes SEAMEO INNOTECH's Special Education Supervisor Edition of the ICeXCELS module entitled "Lead Curriculum Implementation and Enrichment" and a choice of one of the three ASCD PD On-line Courses on
Understanding by Design (UbD), specifically: (1) Understanding by Design (UbD): An Introduction; or (2) Understanding by Design: The Backward Design Process: and (3) Understanding by Design: The Six Facets of Understanding.
To qualify for the Advanced eXCELS courses, the school head must have successfully completed the ICeXCELS the foundation eXCELS course conducted by SEAMEO INNOTECH or selected DepEd regional offices and identified as requiring more focused instruction and training in the advanced level tasks of teaching-learning excellence, instructional supervision excellence and technology excellence. Preference shall be given to those occupying the position for more than three years.
For the other eXCELS courses (PEACeXCELS, CHANGeXCELS, PDeXCELS), there is no pre-requisite. While the courses have been developed with the school as the setting, the concepts, principles and strategies to be learned are useful for education managers operating at the district, division or regional level.
Each of the eXCELS courses may be creditable with at least three (3) academic units for an appropriate graduate/post-graduate degree program from any of the sixteen (16) accredited teacher education institutions in the Philippines. SEAMEO INNOTECH's partnership agreements with such institutions provide that the eXCELS graduates are certified by SEAMEO INNOTECH as having acquired certain prescribed competencies.
The Regional/Division Office may use local funds for the enrolment of elementary and/or secondary school heads and other education personnel to any course of the eXCELS (ICeXELS, Advance or Other eXCELS) Program subject to the usual existing accounting and auditing rules and regulations/procedures. In order to make the most of the scholarship program, enrolment shall be limited to only one (1) course per school head.
