  • To present to the participants the rationale and foundation of the Universal Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education
  • To provide them with sound and appropriate literacy competencies required in ECE
  • To enhance the learning facilitating skills of workers dealing with young children by providing techniques and strategies to build early literacy and problem solving skills
  • To provide them with the theoretical background in early childhood assessment and evaluation and how to communication assessment results
Orientation and Seminar-Workshop on Grade 2 and Grade 8 in the K to 12 Curriculum

Theme: K to 12 Competence Towards Global Competitivenesss		May 8-9, 2013 (Wednesday-Thursday) for Grade 2

May 10-11, 2013
(Friday-Saturday) for Grade 8		Carlos P. Romulo Hall, Teachers Camp, Baguio City
  • To provide the teacher-participants with the explanation of the concepts, procedures and strategies which may be applied in teaching Basic Education learners
  • To orient them on areas on competencies required by the K to 12 Basic Education Program
  • To provide them with lesson exemplars and demonstration lessons in all basic education subjects

The target participants to these activities are all private and public basic education teachers handling early childhood learners, playschool and preschool teachers, child care and daycare service providers, Grades 1-3 teachers, early childhood education (ECE) teachers, owners and administrators of preschools, district and division supervisors of preschools, city and municipal social welfare and development officers and workers, DSWD workers, elementary and secondary education heads, administrators, teachers and supervisors handling Grade 2 and 8 levels of both public and private schools, students of teacher education, faculty members of the college of education, education department, teacher education of state universities and colleges (SUCs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) and officers and other interested stakeholders/individuals from all sectors.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of¬classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
