This Training aims to:
- develop participants' understanding on the role of K (Kindergarten) in the K to 12 curriculum;
- enhance their knowledge and skills on the theoretical and pedagogical foundations of the MTB-MLE;
- enrich their knowledge and skills on the use of the first language (L1) in developing basic numeracy and literacy skills;
- contextualize existing materials for appropriateness and relevance to Kindergarten level and culture of the children; and
- demonstrate ability to apply the appropriate way of teaching in Kindergarten using L1 as the language of learning.
Participants from each schools division/city shall compose a team per schools division/city. They are expected to lead in conducting echo training for effective implementation of Kindergarten Program using MTB-MLE pursuant to the provisions of said Kindergarten Act. Enclosed is the training matrix.
The expenses for the training which include training kit/modules, board and lodging and travel expenses to and from the venue shall be charged to Human Resource Training and Development (HRTD) Funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
The clarifications to said Memorandum are as follows:
- The Kindergarten coordinator with one (1) permanent preschool teacher must attend the training to represent their division as a team. They are expected to lead the conduct of echo-training for the effective implementation of the Kindergarten Program.
- Likewise, the attendance of the regional supervisors in-charge of the Kindergarten Program together with their colleagues from the Division Offices (DOs) within the duration of the training is a must.
