"""Performing a hard reset on your Kindle Fire may resolve intermittent issues like a frozen screen, battery issues or trouble downloading content to your Kindle Fire. Allow your Kindle Fire to charge for approximately 30 minutes, then try the following steps.

To perform a hard reset on your Kindle Fire, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release. After the device has completely turned off, press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire.

If your Kindle Fire is still unresponsive, try charging your Kindle Fire before trying to reset the device again."" from here. Hope this helps, good luck."

I had this weird Alexa device connected logo on my Kindle Fire show up a few days ago. I do not have nor want Alexa. This morning, my Kindle was fine. I got home and have a black screen of death. I've tried the soft reset, even having it on the charger I between, and it still won't turn back on. Help! What do I do? This was a gift and I absolutely love my kindle.

Sometimes you just have to give in, call Amazon & get it replaced. I told my wife, as did Amazon, to make sure to keep it backed up onto your/their cloud. At least you won’t loose your content that you saved. I’m not going to mess with it any longer. It only cost about $100 with a trade in of the old kindle, which they usually toss out or sell to 3rd party sellers, who’ll fix them & market them on auction sites like eBay or if they deal in large volumes, their own website…. Problem solved. It’s not a $600-$900 iPad or Surface, so I’m just going to quit & move on.
