How to fix Wifi problems?

My HP G71t-300 does not detect my home Wifi. I have tried turning the device on and off already, as well as resetting my router.

Check if you can connect to your home network with a 2nd laptop. If you can, then the 1st laptop has something wrong with either the wifi module itself, or the drivers for the wifi module is not installed/the wrong one. For replacing the module, see this guide. For installing the drivers, download them from the HP website using another computer, and transfer it to the 1st laptop via an external storage device.

"If your laptop can detect other Wifi signals but not yours, then this is most likely an issue with your internet provider or modem and not with your laptop.

If none can be detected, however, you may need to replace the Wifi card in the device. Refer to this pagefor further information."

If your laptop doesn't detect any wifi networks, the laptop's wifi connectivity may have been disabled. Check that the switch for the wifi card is on or find the key to turn on wifi.
