best manner to replace it is by taking it to a Samsung dealer they usual give the services and ask them to replace the screen. I've done so with several different makes of cellphones.

"Here is a quick update on a repair that I am doing on a Samsung Galaxy Tab Model: SM-T310 16GB WiF. Prepare for a long post with some tips. Before I started this repair I viewed the exact movie that SiliconSurfer viewed. ( usseless )

I used a regular hair dryer with a tight nozzle to heat up the lcd and started peeling of the glass. It was clear to me that the LCD, glas and digitizer are glued together but can be separated.

I have noticed 3 layers in the screen. ( top to bottom)

Top layer glass + adhesiveFlexible digitizer layerLCD covered in loca glue

My tips & process.

Globally heat up the screen.Focus on the top right corner en peel off the glass. You will find the flex cable of the digitizer. Try to free this.Use a LCD cutting wire to gently cut the glass free from the digitizer layer. Apply heat and have a lot of patience. Do not try to lift the glass when its still fixed to the screen. This proces wil take a lot of time and It really made me sweat! The digitizer wil look like a thick plastic foil and can be gently removed from the frame. Be gentle and apply some heat because the digitizer foil and lcd are fixed with some loca glue. Clean up al the loca from the LCD & test if it still works.

Next step:

I'm thinking about the next steps an how I will apply new loca and use the UV light to fix the new digitizer in place. Tips on placing the digitizer are more than welcome.

Next time I wil film or take pictures.

Greetings Super Man"

"i used a heat gun along with a high ""E"" guitar string (the smallest string).

I used the string like dental floss between the glass and the digitizer. pay attention to where the cable connection is as not to pull on it with the guitar string. start at the opposite end of the cable and work your way down."

I used a hotplate set at 80 c and molybdenum wire. It split quite easily. I have now assembled without loca and have a massive air bubble in between the digitiser and LCD, i don't like using loca as it gets everywhere. But will probably have to, or purchase the full unit.

Did you guys dismantle the entire device or did you remove the glas with the motherboard and battery still in?
