Installed new battery and watch won’t turn on

Installed new battery and watch won’t turn on

My Apple Watch Series 3 42mm recently stopped charging and was stuck in the power reserve state. I bought a battery replacement kit and installed the new battery, but the watch won’t turn on and it seems as if it’s not picking up the charge. Any idea what else could be going on?
