"hi

Ok i know you solved it , but I have to add some thing so this might help others having this problem , which made my Droidcam not having sound and brought me to madness so i finally solved it by watching a video that had nothing to do with Droicam .

So what was happening is that somehow the privacy options from the Windows Microphone settings got turned off this allows other programs such as Droidcam to get acess to the microphone .

All I had to do is to turn it on again .

Start menu -> Settings -> privacy -> Microphone - > click on the “Change button “ and turn it back to “on”

Took me something like a month to get this so i hope this help to some that are getting Insane like i was !!"

"Hi,

I bought a used Toshiba L655 laptop. Microphone was not working. It had Windows 7. I tried going to Manage Audio devices and no microphone appeared. I know the computer had a built in mic. So I tried the following:

“Start -> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Find and Fix Problems -> Hardware and Sound -> Troubleshoot Audio recording”. The system found and fixed the problem for me.

Good luck"

"My in-built mic in my TOSHIBA Satellite P50 worked perfectly until it suddenly stopped working. I’m running Win10 on a 64-bit system. All settings seemed to fit perfectly and Conexant SmartAudio HD device was enabled and selected as default device with correct levels (Microphone Array and Boost) and was not muted and green highlighted. What finally helped was a different sample rate setting! I changed under

Windows -> [Settings] -> [System] -> [Sound] -> under ""Input"" [Device properties] -> under ""Related Settings"" [Additional device properties] -> folder [Advanced]

the sample rate under ""Default Format” to [2 channel, 16 bit, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality)]

and boom, it worked!

Funnily the default value that is selected with [Restore Defaults] to [2 channel, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)]

does NOT work! It took me hours to find this out - and I guess it might have changed while working with Audacity."

"I had a very similar situation today and I resolved it by doing the same thing as well. This does work. I then encountered another issue (while attempting to record music via USB recording interfaces x2) I was trying to record video via built in laptop webcam while recording the audio via USB recording interfaces. My camera wouldn't record the sound from either interface (and incase anyone's wondering what I was recording it's a guitar through behringer vamp 3 guitar interface, as well as external condenser microphone via behringer u uphoria u2 interface with built in pre amp and phantom power supply). Still haven't figured it out. But I did find some useful info on this badass site that I just realized was ifixit.com! Thanks Danny C. for making this super relevant site!
