Where is the button flex assembly connecting to the rest of the watch?

I'm a Product Designer and currently I'm working on a project that includes embedding an Apple watch. Because of this I'm researching about the components and structure of the watch. I found most of the information, but I couldn't figure out exactly where and how the button flex assembly is connecting to the rest of the watch.
