My Playstation 4 wont stay on for more than 5 seconds.

My PS4 wont stay on for more than 5 seconds after turning it on. When I turn on the controller I get a light blue blinking light. I figured it was overheated so I let it sit with the plugs out all night and some hours throughout the day, tried it out this afternoon and it stayed on for about 45 min. & shut off. The way I got it to start was to not plug the HDMI into the PS4 until it stayed on at least after 10 seconds. When I took the HDMI out of the ps4 after it shut off, I noticed the HDMI was a bit hot so I'm guessing its a HDMI problem. Will I need to buy a new HDMI? I don't have a warranty because I bought the console off of a friend so I'm trying to figure this out myself. For an idea of what I'm going through, this video shows it well. "I'm sorry to say, but it will likely get worse and at some point it probably won't start up at all. Unfortunately this isn't something that is easily fixed. It's probably caused by a bad APU chip on the motherboard. It might be caused by bad solder joints as well, there's no good way to know for sure.

I haven't found that this problem is due to an overheating issue, but replacing the solder paste can't hurt anything...the paste that the factory put in these is not good.

Some people have had success getting a warranty without a receipt. Another thing you can try is buying an extended warranty from Sony for $50. I would try both of those things because this problem might get better for a while, but it will come back.

If none of that works you can click on my profile and go to my business page with a link to my website with repair info.

Good luck!"

Try reseating the heatsink on the processor and a lot of times the immediate shutdown is due to an overheating issue. The processor only take about 3-5 seconds to get up to 300 degrees and if there is nothing cooling it down it will shut instantly to protect from further damage.

You need a new power supply for your ps4. Its not the hdmi . I can tell because your fan was not running.

is the HDMI broken does it have a scratch or look in the HDMI that goes to the PS4 see if the little metal things in it are bended or broken then you have to get a new HDMI but if the HDMI is not broken its your PS4 its getting too overheated to keep on running.do you hear a loud noise coming from the PS4 if so then the system is dirty an needs to be clean i hope this was helpful.
