Won’t turn on or off, vizio logo flashing , black screen, 47” tv

"I was looking for more info on the problem, but can add this. Vizio customer support is GREAT. I learned that you can unplug the tv and, likely on the bottom left side of the tv, wherever your HDMI ports are, is a silver cylinder looking button you push for at least 15 seconds. Then replug the cord. If that does not fix the problem it needs to be repaired.

I was given the phone # for their repair folks, who I was told can give me an estimate for the repair. Then I can decide if it is worth it or just buy another tv. I have to wait till Monday to call them as they are closed on Sat-Sun.

Just let it flash. It stopped flashing after a couple minutes and works now.

"My 43” Vizio did the flash and die thing when it was new. I was just getting ready to pack it back to the store but I plugged it in one more time and it restarted.

It has done it a few times in the past 10 years always coming back in a few minutes with no action from me.

Today it was out for a few hours, I took the back off to look for anything obvious and dust it out. Still nothing. I reseated the connectors, still nothing.

About two hours later it came back to life.

So if nothing else be patient! Of course it could still be dieing but a new TV wouldn't make me sad."
