My iPod got washed and continued to work after drying but it has no light.

That's a symptom of a bad logic board, which is not cost-efficient to replace, you'll either have to use it with a flashlight or get a new one (and I'd suggest selling the dead one on ebay for scrap, all parts working but the logic board can get you a decent price).
