The oven relay on my viking electric oven is overheating- Replaced the unit and covered any bare wire with tape- tape melted and fused-

"JohnOrefice, if the relay is overheating, replacing it is all you can do. Make sure the replacement relay is of the required amps. I’ve heard that Viking has had some issues with their relays. If the new one overheats again, you might want to call Viking on this issue.

Always check the connections of other components, elements, thermostats, sensors, etc for any signs of overheating or loose connections.

As long as it’s not gas, you won’t have to worry about it exploding.But if there is any bare wires showing use electrical tape and then cover that spot in rubber.
