Water damage to iPod classic

Water damage to iPod classic
My iPod classic went into a washing machine in my gym short’s pocket. I immediately put it in rice. Now, when I plug it in to charge, the apple symbol goes on and off, but other than that, no signs of life. Is there any hope of recovery of my music and video files?
