Why does the breaker trip when I engage power

Why does the breaker trip when I engage power about 2 weeks ago the breaker began to trip occasionally when i would hit microwave power - but now as soon as i hit power the 20 amp breaker trips - the light and fan does not trip the breaker. the capacitor checks out fine but i am unfamilar with the other components ANSWERS:
