1. Festival Background
1.1 Malaysia will be organising the International Children's Arts and Culture Festival 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 6th to 12th December 2011. This Festival is aimed at promoting children's artistic talent for music, choral recitation and dance. It is important to realize that the children today are gems of the future generations who will inherit and perpetuate our legacy. Therefore, their multi-talented skills should be developed to the highest levels and given due recognition.

The objectives of the festival among others are to recognize the exceptional talent of children in arts, to enhance networking and to strengthen camaraderie among the children from participating countries. This programme comes under the auspices of the Prime Minister's Office and is coordinated by the National Department for Culture and Arts (Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture Malaysia).

The "Amazing Kids" theme, chosen for this year's Festival, highlights the excellent talent of the children in arts especially in music, choral, and dance. The young talents, often at par and at times surpassing their adult counterparts, are a national jewel to be treasured.
