Conference on Language Teaching: Issues and Concerns

The University of the Philippines Department of English and Comparative Literature (UP DECL) in partnership with the Primetrade Asia, Inc. will conduct the Conference on Language Teaching: Issues and Concerns on September 15-17, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. The conference aims to bring to the fore the current issues and concerns of language teachers, policy-makers, scholars, researchers, and trainers.

The topics to be discussed during the conference include Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTBMLE), Understanding by Design (UBD), English Language Teaching Strategies, Varieties of English (e.g. Philippine English), Testing and Assessment, Literature in the Language Classroom, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, Instructional Materials Development, and Research Strategies.

The participants to this conference are the educators, teachers and students.

This conference will coincide with the 32nd Manila International Book Fair, the country's premier book event on September 14-18, 2011 which will be held at the Exhibition Halls 1-4 (G/F of SMX Convention Center). It will also coincide with other events like Edu.Shop, My Wellness Program, Super Kids 2011, and the Best of Anime 2011.
