The Conference aims to:
- commemorate the Cadiz Assembly and the Constitution of 1812 that resonated well in the Philippines of the 19th Century, not only in the various disturbances that occurred after its suppression in 1814 but likewise in the framing of the constitutions during the Revolution of 1896 (Malolos Constitution) and in the aftermath of the EDSA People Power Revolution of 1896;
- deepen the participants’ understanding of the processes involved in the formation of the Filipino nation by recovering what historians of the past generation had already considered "lost history;” and
- develop exemplars and modules on how to teach the lessons of Cadiz, the El Pueblo Soberano phenomenon whose principles could also be found in the Constitution.
The teachers from both public and private elementary and secondary schools nationwide are invited to attend this activity.
