What he means by full restore is to do a hard power reset. Hold down the power button and the home button at the same time for approx. 10 sec.

"Thanks @ firestormmedia, that was the only solution that worked for me. I unscrewed the motherboard and lifted it up, thus disconnecting the battery and effectively removing the battery. After than, I assembled the iPad back together, and everything worked.

On a related note: I was using metal tongues to put the wires/chords into their places, which may have caused this problem. I recommend using fingers instead of anything metal to reconnect the wires and cables."

FIXED!! I removed the 2 screws (power connector and other one next to it) inserted a plastic tool between the board and the back of the iPad. I left it for a couple of minutes. Then reinstalled the screws and pressed the home and power buttons. And the screen lit up with apple logo and it asked for password. Thanks for the tip.

don't do a full restore just yet!! first make sure the lcd and digitizer are plugged in then unplug the battery and plug it back in attempt to turn it on!!
