My Brother printer is always jamming in duplex mode

My Brother printer is always jamming in duplex mode

Single sided printing works fine but duplex is always jamming. I clear the duplex tray but it just jams again. I own a Brother MFC-8910DW. It’s about two years old and has been a great printer. Until now!

You can easily remove the paper from the printer by using some basic guidelines, all you have to do is follow the steps given below.

This seemed to start just after a firmware update. I assumed it would be fixed quickly with the next version, but it has not. That the firmware is the issue is supported by the fact we have two different models of printers.

I only have a small personal use Brother printer, but I have noticed that it “jams” a lot when I print duplex too. The thing is with mine, it is not actually jamming. This happens to me when I print something duplex that only needs to print one side. The printer seems to want to suck the paper back in and flip it as if to print the other side even if there is nothing to print there, so if I take the sheet out when the first side is done printing but before it has a chance to suck it back in and flip it, it reads a false paper jam. The only thing I have to do is hit the X on the control panel and everything goes back to normal. I apologize if this is not applicable to your specific printer, but I thought there was a chance it may be a similar programming issue and not a physical jam after all.

Has anyone tried “rubber rejuvenator” on the rollers? I have 2 brother printers and both have this problem and it seems to be a 2-3 year age thing. Just wondering because I can’t think of anything else to rejuvenate with the $12 bottle.
