My screen is displaying "Write Protect Error". What does this mean? My screen is displaying "Write Protect Error". I do not know how to fix this. Please help.

"Hi Matthew,

It sounds like you are having issues with your SD Card. You can start your troubleshooting by making sure the ""Write protect switch"" on the side of your SD Card. If it is in the unprotected position then you should check out the ""Write protection error"" section of the Troubleshoot page. I hope this helps and good luck!

This is how my E-PL1 died. No matter what I did with the SD cards (yes, plural) I couldn't write to them.

Write protection swith on sd-card is mechanical. Its state is read by swith in sd-card slot. So there is nothing to do with sd-card. I have same problem and some time i has had workaround inserting card proper way, but not today. So, i will disassemble camera and disable this switch totally.
