Why are my pictures not transferring to my computer?

Why are my pictures not transferring to my computer? I am trying to move my pictures from my camera onto my computer so I can print them but I can not get the pictures to load. How do I connect my camera to my computer? I have the USB cable that was included with my camera purchase. Do I need anything else?
