Fifth National English Jazz Chants Festival, First Free National Training on Jazz Chants in Media, Free Training on Speech Enhancement

The World Class Language Center (WCLC) in coordination with the National Council to Combat Climate Change (NCCCC) together with the National Council for Children’s Television-Department of Education (NCCT-DepEd) will launch the Fifth National English Jazz Chants Festival and the First Free National Training on Jazz Chants in Media and Free Training on Speech Enhancement with the theme One for All, All for One for Public Awareness Climate Change in Action on November 24-25, 2012 in Boracay.
These activities focus on developing both the teachers and the children. Specifically, it aims to:
  1. enhance the students’ oral English proficiency and creative interpretation of the art of Jazz Chanting; and
  2. train the teachers and students on proper articulation (accent), pronunciation (correct combination-sounds of the syllables of the word), enunciation (the art of speaking) and grammar (proficiency).
The festival is open to elementary pupils, secondary students and teachers from both public and private schools nationwide.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption¬of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
