These activities focus on developing both the teachers and the children. Specifically, it aims to:
- enhance the students’ oral English proficiency and creative interpretation of the art of Jazz Chanting; and
- train the teachers and students on proper articulation (accent), pronunciation (correct combination-sounds of the syllables of the word), enunciation (the art of speaking) and grammar (proficiency).
The festival is open to elementary pupils, secondary students and teachers from both public and private schools nationwide.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption¬of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
