The Sergia Esguerra Memorial Foundation, Inc., (SEMFI) announces its
2012-2013 Scholarship Program to qualified and deserving elementary
pupils and high school students of public schools who are deaf and
speech impaired. It has two programs: (1) The Philippine Institute for
the Deaf (PID) with an oral preschool/elementary program; and (2) the
Integrated School of the Philippines (ISP) with an inclusion of high
school program.
The Program aims to: - develop the speech (instead of just sign language) of the deaf pupils and students and those with various speech impediments; and
- help them overcome their difficulties in communication to achieve their dream careers.
The criteria for the scholarship grants are as follows: Preschool/Elementary Level Deaf and Speech Impaired
| Secondary Level Regular (Hearing) Students
| - Above Average IQ
- Ages 5-12 years old
- General Average – 82 and above
- Good health and good moral character
- Good family support system
- Attentive and perceptive
| - Top elementary graduates
- General Average – 85 above
- Satisfactory grades in language and reading
- Good moral character
- No guidance record of misconduct

- Birth Certificate
- Audiological Record (if available)
- School Endorsement
- Barangay Certification
