Seminar-Workshop entitled “How Difficult Can This Be?: Helping Children With Dyslexia

The Resources for Educational and Allied Consultancy Habitat (REACH), Inc. in partnership with the Sharing Our Caring Foundation, Inc. will hold a Seminar-Workshop entitled "How Difficult Can This Be?: Helping Children With Dyslexia” on April 9-10, 2012 at the REACH Inc., 2F Metromall Uniwide Sales, Pamplona, Las Piñas City. The seminar-workshop aims to:

1. provide the participants with definition of Dyslexia and an outline;
2. identify the indicators of Dyslexia in the classroom by assessing the student’s reading skills, specifically in the areas of fluency, comprehension, writing and spelling;
3. provide them with special accommodation and practical strategies and teaching tips;
4. provide them with information on assessment procedures and tests; and
5. enable them to gain knowledge in the use of low technologies and high technologies as part of educational accommodation.
   

The participants to this activity are school principals/school administrators, policy makers/local government officials/non-government organizations (NGOs), general classroom/special education (SPED) teachers, guidance counsellors, psychologists/nurses, occupational/speech therapists, related/auxiliary service providers, parents and students in related field.
