Broken Screen replacement, half the screen doesn't work, it has lines

The problem could be as simple as either rebooting the iPhone or opening the iPhone and reconnecting both the LCD and digitizer connectors since in some situations it can become loose after dropping the phone.

You will need a pentalobe screwdriver, #00 philips screwdriver, plastic spudger, and a suction cup (or iSlack tool) to open the iPhone and diagnose the problem. There are guides on here for the 5S that will greatly assist you with opening the iPhone.

Open up the iPhone, being careful with the touch id sensor flex cable, disconnect the battery, and then remove the metal shield that covers the screen connectors and take a look at the connectors. Remove and reconnect them and see if that solved the problem. Lemme know if you need help or more info.

"While albiejames is correct. I normally see white lines, when using a bad part, or when there's connection issues, with the digitizer cable and socket. Guessing this all happened with a stock phone so try this guide, and be careful while doing it

i need help

I dropped my phone about a month ago, and cracked the whole screen. Except for the part where my whole screen was cracked, it was working fine. Then I dropped it again and a few pieces of glass fell out of the top right corner. White lines developed and the right side of the screen wasn't working. The white lines are gone now, but the whole right side doesn't work. I can't get into it because part of my password requires a number on the right side. Help!
