How to work around Realtek HD Audio Manager's "Default device" setting?

How to work around Realtek HD Audio Manager's "Default device" setting? I've got my headphones plugged into the back panel of my motherboard, and SPDIF audio out. Realtek HD Audio Manager will only let me to select 1 Default Device - that means every time I need to swap between the headphones the SPDIF device I need to go and switch the default device in the Realtek app.
