"I got a broken one from a friend. It was missing charge port and pads. So I ran a usb cable to the trace points. Plugged it in. No less. Not turning on…getting 5 volts at the battery and getting voltages within range on the main board too. Gonna try the reset:
Hold down the power button for 8 seconds, then let go.Press the power button once. The Fuel Gauge flashes white to red 3 times.Your device is now reset.
Should that fail I suppose I'll take the speakers and hook up another bluetooth speaker to make custom one."
Battery shows 127% on mine and it will not power on unless plugged in. This leads me to think the micro usb charger port is loose and the voltage is feeding back into the pc to show 127% this may make some sense as it would require x voltage to run the speaker and y voltage to charge the battery and run the speaker - this may well = 127% of charge - any thoughts?
"It sounds like the battery is either bad or came disconnected or possibly another cable between where the USB port is and the battery is loose. Check all cables and clips and make sure everything is seated correctly. Also take note of the shape of the battery. If it looks puffy and bloated it is going bad or is bad and is unsafe. If you smell anything funny coming from the battery it is Li-Ion gasses and another sign you need a new battery.
