Monitor turns off after 5 seconds

Monitor turns off after 5 seconds I had a philips monitor (don’t know model no more) for now about a year, yesterday turning on my computer there was no image so I thought my monitor was off (was the case) though I couldn’t menage to turn it back on. Unplugged power cable and plugged it back, it worked so didn’t bother about it. Today I turn my monitor on, since I turned it off yesterday, no problem for about 5-10 seconds, then turns off, I had to unplug the power cable again to make it work. Is this monitor going to die or is it the power cable? If it’s the monitor then I’d better like to know so I can save up and buy a new one. Thanks!

if another monitor works properly on your computer, it is most likely the power board that is failing on your Philips monitor. Check the boards with a multimeter and let us know what you find. Disassemble your monitor and post some good pictures of the boards with your question. That will allow us to see what you see. Adding images to an existing question"
