The Celebration aims to raise awareness among service providers, children, parents, communities and the society on how to make the environment safe, protective and caring for the children.
In this regard, regional and schools division offices and schools are encouraged to support the observance of the aforementioned event and undertake the following child-related activities:
- Hoisting of a streamer depicting this year's theme (enclosed as Annex A);
- Integration of the celebration in different subject areas;
- Discussions on current issues involving children on how to protect themselves against sexual abuse and exploitation, in the appropriate subject areas; and
- Organizing of child-friendly activities, such as art contests, poster and slogan making, children's fair, and/or photo exhibit.
Expenses to be incurred relative to the conduct of activities for the said celebration shall be charged to local funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
