"I was facing the same issue after upgrading to Windows 8.1. You need to remove EVERYTHING that has anything to do with iTunes to fix this problem. Make sure to remove Apple mobile device support, bonjour, Apple software update, Apple application support and of course iTunes. This article will help you to remove everything: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923

Now re-install the iTunes software and you’re good to go. I hope it helps."

"I removed everything as you suggested and re-installed Itunes, it worked!

Thank you for taking the time to answer, you have saved an HP windows computer from being listed on craig's list, under the heading, ""computer junk for sale""

Thank you Alex22 for your help."

It worked, thanks!

It worked by uninstalling ALL Apple programs and components. Thank you! I had uninstalled and re-installed iTunes several times, without success. However, it worked like a charm after uninstalling Bonjour and all other Apple programs and then re-installing iTunes.
