2011 National Seminar-workshop of The Philippine Association of English Language, Linguistics and Literature Teachers (PAELLLT)

The Philippine Association of English Language, Linguistics and Literature Teachers (PAELLLT) will conduct the 2011 National Seminar-workshop with the theme "Teaching English, Reading and Literature Beyond the Curriculum: The Essence of Teaching for Understanding Across Grade Levels,” on December 9-11, 2011 at the Divine Word Formation Center, SVD Road, Brgy. San Jose, Tagaytay City. The seminar-workshop aims to:

1. equip the participant across grade levels with the realistic pedagogies in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), Reading beyond the Text and Literary Criticism to better understand and appreciate literature vis-à-vis Critical Thinking Skills;
2. integrate the framework of Understanding by Design (UbD) in their own curriculum, thus, teaching the students the enduring understanding/values they need beyond the four corners of the classroom; and
3. provide useful approaches in reading within the text, beyond the text, and about the text.
   

The participants are the English, Reading, and Literature teachers, department heads and administrators from public and private schools.
